Code name “PJRaven” after current project – tons of upgrades in this revisit, but most noticeably to the media section:

New (Simplified) Media Library, with sorting by Categories:

• Files are now listed in tiled category groupings.
• Delete “x” and view “→” buttons are revealed on mouse-over/hover.
• Page clutter (like filters, sorting, search) has been removed
• Clicking on image brings to edit screen

Cleaner Add/Edit Media page:

• Clutter, and very unused features here (like “alt” & “description”) text have been removed
• Media Cats has been implement in place of removed textareas.
• Media meta information (name/type/date/size) has been cleaned

Facelift for Attachments / Galleries:

• tiled attachments!! no more long lists of attachments running down a screen
• you can easily see at least 3x more per what you could before
• Additional clutter was removed (like the move-handle & filename) and left only what is used and needed
• a larger thumbnail for easy image recognization
• X to remove (revealed on mouse-hover)
• title & caption’s unlabeled (will label in future with faded-placeholder (like “http://” URL feilds))

With the release of Beta 0.1.0, we’ve also released our new website to serve has a hub for documentation about the plugin. The design is a web 2.0 spin off of heyshauna web design‘s layouts- featuring an array of textures and css embroidering, trying to stick to our standard of good, simple, calm and pretty.

Besides all the examples of heyyou throughout the Example pages: all listed content (like the Change Log, Functions page, FAQ) are managed and formated using heyyou.

After 6 months of development, and a year of planning and thinking, heyyou is about two weeks away from reaching Beta version 0.1! We’re really excited at the progress made and how well heyyou works with WordPress and our websites.

We’ve developed 6 sites with heyyou thus far and each taught us a lot about what heyyou should be, and what it shouldn’t – the combination of these different types of sites has given use a clear picture of what heyyou needs to be for 0.1 release.

Current we have 6 sites running live with heyyou:

• PuSh Festival
• Vancouver New Music
• Cocoon Designs
• WenWei Dance

Each site has presented it’s own unique problem with integrating heyyou, and each problem had to be solved in such a way to not hinder the original design of the site. Solving these problems has been a very involved process – but the ease of use outcome and benefit to the WordPress user is far to substantial to complain.
